If anyone has ever played poker before, then they know what I’m talking about when I talk about that rush you get when playing poker. Outsiders that don’t understand the game doesn’t see how the game’s popularity is still growing stronger than ever. Many people believe poker is a trend and will die away slowly, but I disagree. As a player myself, I understand why this game is so popular and why it is still around. The game has evolved to to having their own poker show on television to online players and more. There’s a lot of money in this industry and a very strong following.
Why Poker Will Stay Around
In my opinion, poker to gambling is like an iPod to music. Although many people think that ipods are just a trend, listening to music isn’t. As long as people will continue to listen to music, then the iPod will still be around. Same thing for poker. As long as people are gambling for real money or for fun, then poker isn’t going anywhere. Poker in the U.S. is part of American culture where it will go down in history as a favorite past time.
Why We Play Poker
The feeling is unexplainable, the best advice I can give you is to learn the game and take a seat at the tables or play at home with your buddies. The most exciting thrill when I play poker is when I bluff my opponents out on an all-in. Just the fact that you’re trying to lie with a straight face is exciting. Concentration is intense and discipline is harder to maintain as you feel your blood rushing in your body. To win a big pot on a bluff is gratifying, but also heart-breaking when you lose a big hand. nonetheless, this game is a game of patience, discipline, skills, etc. I’ve had many great times playing at home with my friends when we were just sick of the same social bar scene that goes on day in and day out.
